Who Is a Jew? Amiens, France, 1940-1945

March 10, 2018 , 7:00 pm

title: Who Is a Jew? Amiens, France, 1940-1945
description: Historian Dr. David Rosenberg will present the newest exhibition at Temple Emanuel’s Thou Art Gallery, “Who Is a Jew? Amiens, France, 1940-1945.”

“Who Is a Jew?” focuses on a set of photo identification cards of Jews from Amiens and its region to explore how French Jews self-identified when forced to register during the Nazi occupation of World War II. Dr. Rosenberg’s research provides a chilling glimpse into the past and a reminder of a time in history that must never again repeat.

Presented by Temple Emanuel of South Hills in partnership with the Holocaust Center of Pittsburgh.

A wine and cheese opening reception, as well as a brief talk with Dr. Rosenberg begins at 7:00 p.m.
