PITTS: On Saturday, January 2, 2010, Sylvia Ackerman, 97, formerly of Versailles Boro, Monroeville and McKeesport; wife of the late Benjamin Pitts; mother of Roberta “Robby” Levy of Delray Beach, FL and Marcy L. Pitts of Pgh; daughter of the late Samuel and Hilda Spiegel Ackerman; sister of Alvin Ackerman of Pgh, Harriet Marks of Longboat Key, FL, Bernice Tannenbaum of Boca Raton, FL and the late Margaret Schwartz and Louise Weiss; grandmother of Howard and Jennifer Levy; great-grandmother of Jack, Alex and Charlie Benjamin Levy; also survived by many nieces and nephews. Graveside services were held at Tree of Life Sfard Cemetery, Versailles. Contributions may be made to Squirrel Hill Food Pantry, Forward Ave., Pgh, PA 15217. Arrangements by Jennifer S.
