Samuel "Joseph" Haas

HAAS: Samuel “Joseph” Haas passed away at age 94 on Memorial Day, May 29, 2017, in St. Petersburg, Fla. He was a World War II Marine veteran and flew the Corsairs in the South Pacific. He was born on August 6, 1922, and was one of seven brothers and sisters, all deceased, from Pittsburgh. He went to South Hills High School, Connelly Trade School and three years at Carnegie Mellon University. He was a master carpenter and builder in the Pittsburgh area. Haas owned Diamond Ceiling Company in Castle Shannon, Pa., and continued until he retired early, in 1983, due to strokes. He moved to Pinellas Park, Fla., in 1997 with his wife where he remained until his passing. His first wife was the late Pearl Shapiro Haas. He is survived by his wife Harriet E. Haas, his three daughters, Roberta Marsh, Cheryl Bonner and Rebecca Haas Bourgeois, all in Florida, and six grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
