Rose Trattner Feldman

FELDMAN: Rose Trattner Feldman, 76, of Pittsburgh and New York City, died September 19, 2015. She was born and spent most of her life in Pittsburgh and more recently lived in New York City as well. She received her bachelor’s degree and doctorate in English literature from the University of Pittsburgh. Dr. Feldman was a lifelong educator. She was a public school teacher in the Pittsburgh public school system in the 1960s and 1970s. She had written curriculum for the Pittsburgh Public Schools, supervised elementary and high school teaching candidates for the University of Pittsburgh and frequently served as educational consultant until she became vice principal of general studies at the Hillel Academy of Pittsburgh where she worked from 1980 until 1993. In 1993 she started an educational consulting service, ECS, providing college and career guidance. Beloved wife, mother and grandmother, she is survived by her husband, Leonard, three children, Melissa Feldman (Ariel Nelson), Michael Feldman (Connie), and Julie Feldman (Josh Rosenfeld) and eight grandchildren. Services were held on September 20 with arrangements by Shaare Torah Congregation in Pittsburgh.
