Pi Day celebration

Community Day School Middle School students celebrated Pi Day with scavenger hunts, poetry writing and a slice of apple or cherry pie.

On March 14 Community Day School Middle School joined in the nationwide celebration of Pi Day, as students participated in activities including digital Pi scavenger hunts, advanced equation solving, Pi poetry writing, and other fun math challenges.

Pi is the symbol used in mathematics to represent a constant — the ratio of the circumference of a circle to its diameter — that is approximately 3.14159.

Math teacher Leslie Frischman organized the annual CDS Pi Day celebration, and of course, it culminates with a delicious slice of apple or cherry pie for each student.
