Pearl Gerson

GERSON: Pearl Gerson. Born in Pittsburgh on February 9, 1922, to Nathan and Mollie Kaufman, Pearl passed away peacefully at her home in Lauderhill, Fla., on Wednesday, November 23, 2016, after a long battle with cancer. She was married to Joe Gerson, the love of her life, who predeceased her in 1997. We remember her both as a beloved, devoted wife and a loving and wise mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She is survived by her two sons, Jim and Steve, and their wives, Caryl and Vonnie; her grandchildren, Dara, Mathew, Jeffrey and Dana; and her great-grandchildren, Sage and Sophia. A celebration of her life was held at Ralph Schugar Chapel, Inc. Interment Tree of Life Memorial Park. Donations can be made to the American Cancer Society, PO Box 22718, Oklahoma City, OK 73123 in her memory. Pearl wrote this poem for Joe after his passing:

“If tears could build a stairway

And memories a lane,

I’d walk right up to heaven

And bring you home again.

I love you and miss you.

-Your Babe”
