Norman Schwartz

SCHWARTZ: Norman; Age 89, of Squirrel Hill, Pittsburgh, passed away on Wednesday, March 23, 2011 after a brief illness. Loving father of Howard (Denny) Schwartz and daughter-in-law Helen of Pinehurst, NC and adoring grandfather of Elliott of Santa Monica, CA and Alex of Atlanta, GA. Norman was born in Pittsburgh in 1921 to Clara and Harry Schwartz. He was the youngest of 6 brothers and sisters, now all deceased. Norman joined the Marines in 1942 and rose to the rank of Technical Sergeant. Following the war he married Molly Duke and moved to Oil City, PA where he and his wife owned the New York State Open Air Fruit Market. Following Molly’s death in 1985, he returned to Pittsburgh where he met his dear companion of 24 years, Belle Feldman, who passed away last year. A noted dancer, card player and caring individual he will be sorely missed by all that knew and loved him. A Memorial Service was held at Ralph Schugar Chapel, Inc. Interment PRIVATE.
