BRODELL: Norma Brodell of Boca Raton, Fla., formerly of Greensburg, passed away on Monday, September 4, at the age of 94. She was the beloved wife of Lawrence Brodell for over 71 years. Norma was born in Greensburg on January 1, 1923, daughter of the late Sarah Goldstein Davis and William Davis. She grew up in Jeannette and graduated from Jeannette High School, and attended the University of Pittsburgh. Beginning at a young age, Norma loved to work in the family grocery business. She remained actively involved in the business, Davis Supermarket, when it moved to Greensburg. She was the sister of the late Robert (Phyllis) Davis, Melva (late Mark) Weisberger, and the late Stanford (Ada) Davis, and sister-in-law of Ann (late Lawrence) Ward. She was a most loved and devoted mother to Linda (Jeffrey) Reisner and the late Joanne (Jack) Alpern. Norma was adored by her grandchildren, Barbara Reisner (William Tompkins), Sharon Reisner-Rude (Michael Rude), Julie Alpern, and David (Lisa) Alpern. She was the cherished great-grandmother of Owen Tompkins, Benjamin and Alexandra Rude, and Noa and Joshua Alpern. Norma is also survived and loved by many nieces, nephews, and friends. Services at Congregation Emanu-el Israel, Greensburg, on Thursday, September 7, at 1 PM. Visitation one hour prior to services at Temple (12 – 1 PM). Interment Temple Emanu-El Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be sent to Congregation Emanu-el Israel, 222 N. Main St, Greensburg, PA 15601. Arrangements entrusted to Ralph Schugar Chapel, Inc.
