BIRCH: On Thursday, September 24, 2009, Monroe “Monty” I. Birch, beloved husband of Sheila (Rubenstein) Birch; beloved father of Susan (Jay) Omslaer of Harrisburg, PA and Stephanie (Tom) Dyhouse of Mentor, OH; brother of Fran (Phil) Lowe of Gaithersburg, MD and Gloria (Art) Barsky of Bridgewater, NJ; grandfather of Trevor and Sara Omslaer and Alex and Allison Dyhouse; son-in-law of Anne Rubenstein of Pittsburgh; brother-in-law of Harvey (Toby) Rubenstein of Delaware; also survived by nieces and nephews. Services were held at Ralph Schugar Chapel, Inc., 5509 Centre Ave., Shadyside. Interment Podolier Cemetery.
