Milton L. Lebowitz Memorial Bridge
More than 150 people watched on Friday, April 30, at White Oak Regional Park as a bridge spanning Jack’s Run, at the park’s entrance, was dedicated in memory of the late White Oak mayor, Milton L. Lebowitz.
Lebowitz, who died in 2003, was instrumental in replacing the old span with the new bridge, which was constructed in 2008.
Among the dignitaries who spoke at the ceremony were State Reps. Marc J. Gergely and David Levdansky, State Sen. Sean Logan, Allegheny County Councilman Bob Macey, former Allegheny County Coroner Dr. Cyril Wecht, Common Pleas Judge David Wecht and former State Treasurer Barbara Hafer.
Rabbi Paul Tuchman of Temple B’nai Israel gave the invocation. A delegation of rabbis from Gemilas Chesed synagogue also attended.
A complete story will follow in this week’s Chronicle.
