Marlene Klahr Levite

LEVITE: Marlene Klahr Levite passed away on Thursday at the age of 81.  Marlene was a 65 year resident of Squirrel Hill whose career included both paid and volunteer pursuits in the areas of retail management, bookkeeping, girl scouting, Hadassah, and educational advocacy. She and her beloved husband of 59 years, Bob Levite, fulfilled a lifelong dream of moving to Florida in 1997 where they enjoyed a blissful retirement until Bob’s passing in 2012. Marlene is survived by her daughters Beverly (Alan) Buncher and Karen Zimmerman, along with grandchildren Brad (Charla) Buncher, Samantha Buncher, Andrew Zimmerman, and Jordyn Zimmerman and great granddaughter Lilly. The funeral was held at Star of David, 7801 Bailey Road, N. Lauderdale, Florida 33068. Shiva is being held during the week at Beverly and Alan’s home in Coconut Creek, FL.  Donations may be made to ACLD, The Association for Children with Learning Disabilities, where Marlene served as one of the first Resource Directors for Allegheny County http://www.acldonline.org/ or Temple Adat Or of South Florida at http://taocenter.net.
