Louis Zeiden
ZEIDEN: On Friday, October 5, 2012, Louis; Beloved husband of the late Ruth Friedman Zeiden; Devoted father of Barbara & David Mayl of Scottsdale, AZ and Howard & Kathleen Zeiden of Baltimore, MD; Cherished companion and best friend of Harriet Lewis; Brother of the late Max Zeiden, Saul Zeiden and Esther Klahr; Loving grandfather of Eric & Sharon Mayl, Stephanie & Eran Mahrer, Jennifer & Joshua Pila and Alexis Zeiden; Beloved Zadie of Rachel and Jacob Mayl, Mikaela, Zoe and Noah Mahrer and Zachary and Gabriel Pila. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews. Mr. Zeiden a Pittsburgh native spent his professional career in the menswear industry where he owned and operated Zeiden’s in Beaver Falls for over 20 years. He was active in the business and Jewish communities. Upon his retirement in 1988 Lou returned to Pittsburgh where he continued to serve the business and Jewish communities. Over the years Lou received many honors and awards including the David Ben Gurion Award, the ZOA Citation of Honor, Menswear Retailer of the Year, and was an Eight over 80 honoree. Services were held at Ralph Schugar Chapel, Inc. Interment B’nai Israel Cemetery.
