Lonnie J. Boninger

BONINGER: Lonnie J.; Age 82, of Pittsburgh, passed away March 23, 2015. Beloved wife of 30 years of Walter B. Boninger. Loving mother of Rick Stern and the late Noel Stern. Beloved sister of Michele Braverman and Grandma Nanny to six of the Boninger clan, Jason, Nathan, Joseph, Eli, Alisa and Talia, who are children of Ron Boninger and Patty Hruby, Michael Boninger and Judy Wertheimer and David and Faith Boninger, respectively. Lonnie’s lifetime artistic prowess is legendary. A graduate of the Cleveland Institute of Art, Lonnie worked as an illustrator at the American Greetings Company in Cleveland, Ohio, as a freelance artist and as the cultural arts director at the Cleveland Jewish Community Center. Her love of culture, history and Judaica is reflected in her later textile works. An avid zoo goer, the elephants were her love. Services were held at Temple Sinai.
