Letter to the editor May 5
To the governor, thank you
It was a joy to read The Chronicle’s “Passover seders the new norm at Pa. Governor’s Residence (April 21),” which details the second annual such event hosted by Gov. Tom and first lady Frances Wolf at their Harrisburg home. I do not see eye-to-eye with the governor on some issues, particularly his unwillingness to open alcohol sales to private industry, but he is tops in my book for decency, compassion and acceptance of others, traits that are so sorely needed at this ugly time in American history, an era in which the message form the White House is one of stereotyping, intolerance and hatred. Thank you, governor and first lady, for setting the right tone and an example that Americans of good heart and goodwill — true patriots — should seek to emulate.
