The best Y/JCC basketball player is Sid Cohen (“Who’s the greatest? Best JCC basketball player still up in the air,” March 24). Sid played with the Y senior varsity and led Kilgore Junior to consecutive national championships. He transferred to the University of Kentucky, then coached by the legendary Adolph Rupp, and was a two-year starter. He averaged double figures and achieved the distinction of being named honorable mention All-American. He was drafted by the NBA’s Boston Celtics in the fourth round. This should end the discussion.
