Camp Gan Israel of Fox Chapel started Kids for Kindness to provide opportunities for families to instill compassion and empathy in children through random acts of kindness and giving back to the community.

Kids for Kindness began as a way for campers to pause during their busy summer camp day and do something kind for someone less fortunate. Seeing the need for organized family programs in which children can have hands-on involvement, Kids for Kindness has been opened to the broader community and programming has been extended throughout the year with quarterly events.

Each project will benefit a different segment of the community. Children and families recently gathered to paint ceramic tiles with messages of hope and well wishes for patients at Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh.
