In addition to updating the community about Jewish Federation initiatives from 2017 to ’18, the Federation’s annual meeting was an occasion for recognizing outstanding community leaders. Cynthia Shapira was the 2018 recipient of the Emanuel Spector Memorial Award, which recognizes exemplary service to the community. At the dessert reception following the annual meeting, Shapira (left) greeted FED Talks guest speaker Rabbi Nina Beth Cardin of Baltimore who explored the roots of Jewish hospitality at the meeting.
