Husband of Michele Caplan; father of Heather Caplan of Manassas, VA and Adam Caplan of Columbus, OH; brother of Ronald Caplan of Chicago, IL, Robert (Carol) Caplan of Churchill and Joel (Margie) Caplan of Upper St. Clair; also survived by nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.

Services were held at Ralph Schugar Chapel, Inc., 5509 Centre Ave., Shadyside. Interment followed in Shaare Torah Cemetery.
