James V. Callomon

CALLOMON: On Tuesday, March 1, 2016, James V. Callomon. Beloved husband of Judy Callomon. Beloved father of Betsy Callomon. Beloved brother of Jane C. (late Leon) Arkus. Brother-in-law of Robert J. Cohen Jr. Mr. Callomon graduated from the University of Pittsburgh earning an MBA and a master’s degree in retailing. Later Jim was the volunteer cameraman at the Inaugural Broadcast of WQED in 1954. Mr. Callomon served in the U.S. Army Signal Corps. Music was a major part of his life. As a longtime subscriber to the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra, he had particular passion for the works of Wagner and Mahler. Services were held at Rodef Shalom Congregation. Interment West View Cemetery of Rodef Shalom Congregation. Contributions may be made to Pittsburgh Symphony, 600 Penn Avenue, Pittsburgh, PA 15222 or WQED, 4802 Fifth Avenue, Pittsburgh, PA 15213.
