IDF soldier with local ties found dead in central Israel

The body of American-born David Menachem Gordon, 21, an Israel Defense Forces soldier who went missing on Sunday, Aug. 17 was found Tuesday evening in central Israel with gunshot wounds.

Gordon, who served in the Givati Brigade, lived for a time in White Oak with his family. He was a student at

Hillel Academy from 2008 to 2010. His parents, Ruth and Jacob Gordon, were members of Gemilas Chesed.
