George Gernsback

GERNSBACK: George Gernsback, age 87, of White Oak, died April 14, 2013. He was born in Germany on July 8, 1925 and is the son of the late Leo and Emily Ermann Gernsback. He is retired from sales from Sunshine Industries and very active with the Masons and Shriners. He is survived by his wife; Shirley Glantz Gernsback, daughters; Roxan (James)Boyd of Cranberry Twp. and Gerrie (Steven) Delaney of Mt. Lebanon, grandchildren; Tia and Brady Delaney and Michael , James and Rebecca Boyd. He was a member and Past President of F. & AM Aliquippa No. 375, Past President of the Masonic Veterans, Past President of Accord Lodge No. 785, past member of Mt. Moriah, past Grand Tall Cedar, past member of the O.L. Vieren, past member of Mark Lodge, Past Chairman of the Reception Committee, member of the Scottish Rite, member of the Picnic Committee for the Shriners, Ambassador Emeritus of the Shrine, a US Army veteran of WW ll and a former Board Member of the White Oak Borough Civil Service. Friends will be received at Strifflers of White Oak Cremation and Mortuary Services, 1100 Lincoln Way, White Oak on Monday from 6:00 pm until Masonic funeral services at 7:30 pm. Friends will also be received on Tuesday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service at 11:00 a.m. with Rabbi Charles Diamond officiating. Burial will follow at Temple Cemetery. Family will sit Shiva at 7:00 pm on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday at the residence of his daughter, Gerrie, 737 Rockwood Avenue, Mt. Lebanon, 15234.
