Frank Sadofsky
SADOFSKY: Frank Sadofsky of Oakland, and Squirrel Hill died on October 29, 2016, after a rich and full 89 years. Charlotte Sadofsky, his wife of 66 years, sons Moshe Sadofsky and David Baggins, their wives Susan Kirch and Teddi Baggins, and the grandchildren Sierra and Zachary Baggins, grieve for the loss. He charmed with his wit, fine listening skills and his 100 percent positive attitude. Speaking with Frank made one feel better. He was a Navy veteran of World War II and attended college on the G.I. Bill. As a civil engineer he spent many years in the Westinghouse Nuclear division. Even recently, Frank was extraordinarily busy. He and Charlotte entertained often and beautifully. Frank remained inquiring and informed, attending classes, lectures and study groups. Frank volunteered for Young Peoples Synagogue, other Jewish organizations, the Orchid Society (with a lovely personal collection), Voter Registration, and as part of the control group in a study of Alzheimer’s disease. Contributions suggested to organizations involved in Jewish education and to Young Peoples Synagogue. Graveside services were held at on October 31, 2016, at Beth Abraham Cemetery. Arrangements entrusted to William Slater Ii Funeral Service (412-563-2800).
