Federation seeking volunteers for Fundfest 2014
The 20th Fundfest, the annual phonathon by the Jewish Federation of Greater Pittsburgh to benefit its Annual Campaign, will run from Sunday, Jan. 26, through Thursday, Jan. 30, and volunteers are needed to make calls.
“We need 350 people to come to the Federation office in Oakland to place the Fundfest calls,” Jay Fingeret, Fundfest 2014 co-chair, said in a prepared statement. “Raising money for the Jewish community is an obligation the community takes seriously but, believe me, the callers who participate in Fundfest sessions have fun.”
This year’s Fundfest theme is the Olympic Games. On Fundfest materials, the colors of the Olympics have temporarily replaced the blue of the Federation logo, and the Olympic torch tops the menorah-like graphic element. The Fundfest tagline is, “Are you game?”
“Many Pittsburghers in the Jewish community are game,” said Ilene Fingeret, Fundfest 2014 co-chair, in a prepared statement. “That’s why we have the vital programs that we do.”
Members of the Federation’s Lev Society (donors who have given for at least 32 years to the Federation Annual Campaign) will make Fundfest calls Sunday morning, Jan. 26. The Young Adult Division will work the phones Sunday evening. Members of Women’s Philanthropy will command the dials Tuesday evening, Jan. 28. Others are welcome to join them or fill any of the other Fundfest time slots.
Volunteers will receive training and kosher refreshments — Fundfest staffers will be on hand to provide factual materials and provide assistance.
