DESCRIPTION:title: Self Portraits with a Twist: an art workshop with Israeli artist Merav Kamel\ndescription: This workshop is geared to Art Teachers and Teaching Artists \nSelf Portrait Inside Out\nA portrait of our body’s inner terrain\, that combines an anatomy lesson and sensory awareness. What do I feel that my brain is made of when I study hard? What flutters in my stomach when I am hungry? The students will invent their own metaphors and paint them on a big piece of paper or on clothes so that they would be able to wear the inside of their bodies inside out. \nSelf-Portrait as a Map\nWe’ll begin with a short exercise of drawing a self-portrait of with our eyes closed – with the sense of touch.
