“From Leo Frank to Tree of Life: A History of Antisemitic Violence in America” presented by Dr. Rachel Kranson
description: Please join Congregation Dor Hadash Adult Education for this special presentation by Dr. Rachel Kranson, Associate Professor and Director of Undergraduate Studies, University of Pittsburgh Department of Religious Studies.
Professor Kranson will present a history of violent antisemitic episodes in American history, such as the lynching of Leo Frank and the 1958 bombing of the Hebrew Benevolent Congregation Temple in Atlanta. She will discuss the frameworks that scholars of American Jewish history have used to make sense of these episodes, and suggest whether the October 27, 2018 attack in Pittsburgh will fit such frameworks.
