Anti-Semitism and the American Law
June 24, 2019 , 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm
The Zionist Organization of America: Pittsburgh is pleased to host a discussion on
Anti-Semitism and American Law, featuring Pennsylvania Supreme Court Justice
David N. Wecht. How has the law helped to shape our destiny as American Jews?
What insights can our legal tradition offer as we confront new and troubling forces of
anti-Semitism?
It will be held on Monday, June 24, 2019 at 7:00 PM, in the Eisner Commons at
Congregation Beth Shalom, 5915 Beacon Street. Justice Wecht’s talk is free and open
to the public, but reservations are required and can be made by email at pittsburgh@zoa.org or
by phone at 412-665-4630.
David Wecht grew up in Pittsburgh and was an active member of Masada, the ZOA’s youth
movement. He earned both his bachelor’s and law degrees from Yale. Justice Wecht practiced
law in Washington, DC and Pittsburgh, and was twice elected Register of Wills & Clerk of
Orphans Court. He then served for several years on the Common Pleas and Superior Courts
before his election to The Supreme Court of Pennsylvania in 2015.
