Emil Feldman
FELDMAN: Emil Feldman; On Tuesday, February 10, 2015; passed away at the age of 99, surrounded by his two daughters. Emil was a man of character, integrity and intellect who inspired and received respect from all. Emil Feldman was born in New York City, the son of Herman and Eva (Braun) Feldman, both of whom came to this country as immigrants. He graduated from Taylor Allderdice High School and earned a bachelor’s degree in business administration from the University of Pittsburgh in 1937. During World War II, he graduated from Officers Candidate School as a finance officer and achieved the rank of 2nd Lieutenant. He served in the United States and Italy. He was happily married to Ruth Cohen for 63 years. They raised two daughters, Joan (William Adams) and Hilary (David Karp) and enjoyed their two grandsons, Richard Karp and Evan Luis Adams. Emil and his beloved brother Morton owned and operated H. Feldman Dental Supply in downtown Pittsburgh until their retirement. Emil and Ruth had a loving marriage until her death in 2011. Emil was also predeceased by Morton and Racelle Feldman, Richard Colen, Carol Colen and Janice Colen. In addition to his daughters and their families, he is survived by his nieces and nephews. The family wishes to acknowledge the compassionate and loving care that both Ruth and Emil received at Concordia of the South Hills. Emil lived a long, happy and productive life and will be greatly missed. Services were held at Homewood Cemetery.
