LIEBERMAN: Dr. William B. Lieberman, 92, of Beaver Falls, died Sunday, Feb. 8, 2015, in St. John’s Specialty Care Center, Mars, Pa. Born Nov. 19, 1922, in Pittsburgh, he was the son of the late Samuel and Rachel Haneck Lieberman. A veteran of World War II, he had been a captain in the U.S. Air Force. He did his undergraduate studies at Franklin and Marshall University, and received his graduate degree from the University of Pittsburgh School of Dentistry. He had a thriving private dental practice in Beaver Falls for 50 years, and was also a 40-year member of the dental staff of Heritage Valley Medical Center in Beaver. With a deep and lifelong interest in education, Dr. Lieberman had been a member of the Highland Suburban School Board, a board member of the Community College of Beaver County, board member of Penn State University-Beaver Campus, and he had been an instructor at the University of Pittsburgh School of Dentistry. He was a volunteer at Gateway Rehabilitation Center in the youth recovery program, and was honored with their Volunteer of the Year Award in 2001. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Dorothy Gruskin and Helen Cohen. He is survived by his wife of 68 years, Marcia Silverblatt Lieberman; a daughter, Kathy Lieberman, Philadelphia; a son and daughter-in-law, Jay and Colleen Lieberman, Rolesville, N.C.; and two grandsons, Benjamin and Joshua Lieberman. In addition, he is survived by a number of “surrogate adult children”: Jim Tkacik and Mary Krenceski, Robert Tkacik and Frank and Julie Antonini. Friends were received February 11 in the Hill & Kunselman Funeral Home, hillandkunselman.com., 3801 Fourth Ave., Beaver Falls, with Rabbi Stephanie Wolfe officiating. Interment in Agudath Achim Cemetery, Patterson Township.
