Dr. David Stark
STARK: Dr. David Stark passed away peacefully on September 28, 2015, at Community Hospital of the Monterey Peninsula. On January 24,1950, David was born to Evelyn and Bela Stark in Pittsburgh. He was raised in Pittsburgh, where he still has many friends and visits often. David graduated from the University of Pittsburgh undergraduate and medical school. In 1977, David moved to the Monterey Peninsula where he opened his medical practice. He was an outstanding, caring and dedicated physician for 40 years giving generously of his time and expertise to his patients regardless of status. Most of his patients were the indigent and the needy; all of his patients loved and respected him. David was in the truest sense bigger than life. He had many nicknames, the most prominent of which was “the Duke’ which seemed to fit him perfectly. His friends spanned the globe and when you were a friend of David’s, you were a friend for life. He was a member of the Pacheco Club and the Chabad of Monterey Synagogue. David is survived by his sisters Reva Stark and Jackie Adelman (Louis) and his nephews Ben Stark, Jeffrey Adelman (Justine) all of whom reside in Los Angeles and Andrew Adelman of Washington, D.C. His brother Allen, and parents Evelyn and Bela predeceased, him. He is also survived by many friends who loved him from all over the country. David was a loving brother, uncle, friend and doctor. He will be truly missed. He was a kind, generous and compassionate man, a treasured friend to many and loved by all. The family would like to thank Dr. Richard Gerber for his care the final weeks of David’s life. A service will be held at Home of Peace Cemetery located at 4334 Whittier Blvd., Los Angeles. Please call the cemetery for the date and time of the service at 323-261-6135. A separate celebration of life will be held at a later date in Monterey, Calif.
