Dorothy Wolovitz
WOLOVITZ: Dorothy Wolovitz, 93, wife of the late Norman Wolovitz and daughter of the late Irving E. and Mary Levinson Cohen, died on Monday, February 4, 2013, at the Sivitz Hospice at the Charles Morris Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Pittsburgh, PA. Born in Pittsburgh, Dorothy was a legal secretary for many years and also taught at the Ellis School in Oakland where she was very well liked by her students. She retired after 20 years of loyal service. After leaving teaching she worked for her husband Norman in his business, Wolovitz Furs. Dorothy was a loving wife and mother to her son, Gary, and daughter, Ellen. She enjoyed activities as a member of a social club with many of her closest friends. Dorothy also loved to travel. She was a long-time member of Temple Sinai Synagogue. She was married for over 50 years to her loving husband Norman until his death in 1995. In addition to her husband, Dorothy was preceded in death by her daughter Ellen Wolovitz Grinberg. She is survived by her son Gary of Grove City, PA., her sisters, Lucille Gordon and Corrine Denmark, both of Pittsburgh, and many loving nephews and nieces. Graveside services were held at Temple Sinai Memorial Park.
