HAHN: On Monday, October 15, 2012, Claire B. Hahn; Beloved wife of Jerome P. Hahn. Beloved mother of Janet (Kenneth M. Simon) Hahn, James (Laura) Hahn and Rabbi Andrew Hahn. Sister of Sally B. (Dr. Richard) Cohen. Grandmother of Eliza Simon (Micah) Ratner, Jessica Simon (Mark) Daigle, Zachary Simon, Eric and Matthew Hahn. A lifelong Pittsburgher, Claire B. Hahn was the daughter of Isaac and Emma Bloom. After graduating from Vassar College, she married and raised a family with Jerome Hahn, her husband of sixty-two years. A gifted writer and wordsmith, Claire wrote fundraising materials, plays and lyrics for Women’s American ORT, Ladies’ Hospital Aid Society, and other charities, and co-founded the advertising agency, Bright Ideas. Throughout her life, Claire maintained a large group of friends, many of whom she had known since childhood. Her love of music, modern art, and a well-turned phrase inspired others and infused everything she did. Services were held at Rodef Shalom Temple.
