Dan Ben-David brings “Israel – A Study in Irony” to Pittsburgh on May 28 at 7 p.m. in the University of Pittsburgh’s Sennott Square Building, Room 2400, 210 S. Bouquet St. in Oakland. Ben-David is the executive director of the Taub Center for Social Policy Studies in Israel. Twenty-one unsung Jewish heroes will be honored by the Agency for Jewish Learning on June 1 at the JCC at 9 a.m. Award recipients include Linda R. Lewis, director of operations at Jewish Residential Services who will receive the AJL’s 2014 Special Needs Distinguished Service Award; David Harris-Gershon of the Community Day School who will receive the Grinspoon Award for Excellence in Jewish Education; and Judy Greenwald Cohen, who is the recipient of the Shore-Whitehill Award.
