Breast Cancer discussion marks Israel Komen race
Breast cancer awareness is the subject of a panel discussion tonight, Wednesday, Oct. 27, 6:30 p.m., at the Jewish Community Center, Squirrel Hill.
Hadassah Greater Pittsburgh Chapter, Pittsburgh Affiliate of Susan G. Komen for the Cure and the National Council of Jewish Women Pittsburgh Section are presenting the program, which coincides with the inaugural Israel Race for the Cure. The funds realized from this race will benefit the women of Israel and breast cancer research at Hadassah Hospital.
Local Radio Personality Lynn Cullen will moderate the panel discussion which features Dr. William Poller, radiologist at West Penn/Allegheny Health System; Dr. Barry Lembersky, medical oncologist at the University of Pittsburgh Cancer Institute; Sheila Solomon, genetic counselor at the Hillman Cancer Center, University of Pittsburgh; and Chris and Jim Needle, a survivor and co-survivor couple
A “virtual” Race for the Cure will follow the program in the gym. Leslie Sansone’s Walk at Home team will lead a walking routine, geared for any fitness level.
