Betty Ruth Kline
KLINE: Betty Ruth Kline, age 88, of White Oak, died May 28, 2016, at her residence. She was born in McKeesport on Aug. 22, 1927, and is the daughter of the late Max and Leona Berkowitz Greenfield. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by the love of her life, her husband of more than 60 years, Bernard H. Kline, a World War II veteran, and her brother, Donald Greenfield. She was a retired registered nurse, a former Brownie leader, loved to go to lunch with her friends and play bridge and mah-jongg. She was a member of Temple B’nai Israel, the Sisterhood, B’nai B’rith Women and Hadassah. She truly enjoyed singing and tap dancing in the Sisterhood plays and at the membership luncheons. She is survived by daughters Ellie (Bruce) Lederman of Pacific Palisades, Calif., Meryl (Fred) Trachtman of Olney, Md.; son George (Mary Jo) Kline of White Oak; grandchildren Eric, Jeffrey, and Joshua (Elizabeth) Lederman, Reita, Lena, and Max Kline, and Rachel and Molly Trachtman; and sister, Phyllis Greenwald of North Hills, Calif. Friends and family were received at Strifflers of White Oak Cremation and Mortuary Services, Inc. Rabbi Paul Tuchman officiated the services and the eulogy was by Rabbi Daniel Schiff.
