Bernard Redlich
REDLICH: On Tuesday, January 18, 2011, Bernard; Born and raised in Jeannette, Pennsylvania, and a longtime resident of Greensburg, Pennsylvania, has died at his home in Aventura, Florida. He was 79. The cause of death was lung cancer. Mr. Redlich was the husband of the late Aleen Holtzman Redlich, who passed away in June of 2010. He was the son of the late Milton Redlich and Fannie Goldfield Redlich. Mr. Redlich is survived by his three children, Carol Redlich and Harry Redlich of Aventura, Florida, Anne Redlich, her husband David Witonsky, and their daughter, Lilly Witonsky, all of Chicago. He is also survived by his brother Leonard “Pudgy” Redlich and sister-in-law Faye Samuels Redlich, of Aventura, Florida, sister-in-law Barbara Holtzman of Tucson, Arizona, and sister and brother-in-law Golde and Rona Holtzman of Blacksburg, Virginia, and his beloved aunt, Ms. Rose Goldfield of Aventura, Florida. Bernard Redlich graduated from the Valley Forge Military Academy. He was an alumni of the University of Pennsylvania, class of 1953, and The University of Pittsburgh Law School, class of 1957. He was a member of ROTC at Penn, and served in the United States Army Finance Corp. Mr. Redlich practiced law in Greensburg with the firm of Redlich, Cassol, Redlich and Morocco, where he was an active trial lawyer, and a member of the Westmoreland County Bar Association. In the 1980’s, he moved to Aventura, Florida where he and his brother Leonard became partners in Turnberry Associates, a real estate development company. Bernard Redlich was an avid golfer, and known to many of his friends as “The Champ,” for his athletic prowess. He was also an accomplished fisherman and bicyclist, and into his 70’s he was bicycling over mountains in Vermont and New Hampshire. Bernard Redlich was a devoted husband, father, brother, son and friend. Service were held at Ralph Schugar Chapel, Inc. Interment Ahavath Achim Cemetery/Forest Hills.
