Audrey L. Sandson
SANDSON: Audrey L. Sandson, 77, on Saturday, April 15, 2017. She has been the 58-year soul mate and adored wife of Dr. Gerald (Jerry) Sandson. She has been loved and treasured by her children, Julie Sandson and Dr. Neil Sandson, and her grandchildren, Charlie and Lisa Sandson. She was the daughter of the late Nathan and Pauline Rosen, originally of Brooklyn. Audrey was a mental health therapist at the Allegheny Valley MH MR for 21 years, and she volunteered at Persad, Shadyside Hospital, the Jewish Volunteer Connection and the Charles Morris Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. The Sandsons are pug people and she was indeed, the “Mother of Pugs.” Jasmine will miss her terribly. She was beautiful both outside and in, and was loved and admired for her giving and gracious nature by her many friends. She was a shining example of courage and dignity in the face of adversity. We all learned from her how to rise above life’s curve balls. Audrey prided herself on being a lousy cook and bridge player, but she was devoted to her family, friends and pugs. She was an acknowledged black belt in shopping. It was her wish that there be no memorial service. She encouraged her family to celebrate her life, not by mourning but by continuing life as usual without interruption. Contributions may be made to the Jewish Association on Aging. 200 JHF Drive, Pittsburgh, PA 15217. Arrangements entrusted to Ralph Schugar Chapel, Inc. schugar.com
