Arrest made Briskin slaying

Pittsburgh Police arrested someone Friday in connection with the April 5 murder of 90-year-old Cuddy Briskin at his residence in Squirrel Hill.

Jason Eric Kuhns, 35, of Brentwood, was detained after Brentwood police stopped his vehicle earlier that same day on Sawmill Run Road. They handed him over to Pittsburgh police who charged him with receiving stolen property in relation to the case.

According to a police statement, charges of criminal homicide, robbery and burglary are also pending against Kuhns.

He is being held at the Allegheny County Jail.

Kuhns is currently married to Briskin’s granddaughter, according to police, but the couple has been separated pending divorce.

Briskin, who lived alone, was found dead, Wednesday, April 6, at his home, 2827 Fernwald Road. He sustained injuries to his head, which was covered with a bag. Paramedics pronounced him dead at the scene.
